WHAT COULD BE BETTER THAN THIS?

Spending a week “living” in a beautiful Casa in Santa Fe, New Mexico with two other like-minded artists. Having your own private room and a fully equipped kitchen. Exploring this awesome artist paradise with your sketchbook and your teacher, who has lived and worked in Santa Fe for 24 years and knows where the good stuff is. Learning a personal approach to sketching which tells the story of both your ordinary days and your adventures. I call it “Storyteller Sketching”.

Women Only Please - $1500 includes lodging, some meals, and all field trip transportation.

(A payment plan is available in the Shopping Cart. Payable in thirds with a one/third deposit)

What is an Artists In Residence Retreat?

This is an art retreat that is completely different from anything you have experienced before. You are “artists in residence” because you live, learn, work, and play together for a week in a beautiful Santa Fe House (Casa Artista) devoted just to you and your art. A maximum of 3 students insures peace and quiet and all the personal attention you might want from your hostess/instructor. And you have your own private room.

You are hosted by Santa Fe artist, sketcher, and gallery owner, Jessica Wesolek, who has successfully been teaching people to draw, paint, and sketch for many more years than she wants to admit. She will be spending time with you every day - making sure you have the best possible creative experience in Santa Fe. Field trips are interspersed with lessons and practice time and relaxing time and even free time!

For practicing Sketchers at all levels.

Attendees must already be sketchbookers. Bring your favorite sketchbook and art kit.

We will be learning about design and page layout and different tools, tricks, and supplies that produce variations in style that you may want to adapt into your practice. All supplies for lessons will be included. We will practice what we learn in our classes on sketch-outs in various iconic locations around Santa Fe and during plentiful studio time at the Casa.

We will learn about the special palette of the Southwest and do lots of plain air sketching.

You will go home with a new set of design skills and media ideas to enhance and embellish what you already had.

Plus - you will have spent a week sketching in one of the most sketch-worthy towns in the world.
