An interesting garden journal page usually begins in a garden. Doesn’t have to, but it usually does. Something stands out as interesting at the moment, and you think “hmmm . . .what will I do to translate this interesting thing to my (art) garden journal.” Continue Reading

Perfect Watercolor Palettes for Home and Travel . . .
I LOVE palettes and am always in search of the perfect palette solution (for me anyway). I work with watercolor at home in my greenhouse studio, and also when I am out traveling . . . even if I am going only as far as my own garden. This post is about my current perfect palettes . . . 52 Frames . . .
When I typed the title for this post, it reminded me of a hit song recorded in the 60’s called “96 Tears”, recorded by a group called Question Mark and the Mysterians. If you are of my special generation, you will remember it because it topped all the charts and is still listed by Rolling Stone as #213 on its list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Illustration Friday Fun
Illustration Friday is a wonderful site that has been in constant operation since 2003. I can’t tell you how much I have wanted to participate, but of course, there was never time. Now there is. There is a story here, but I will leave that up to you to imagine.
You do not have to participate to enjoy the amazing art on this site. If you have not been there, you are missing a creative adventure.
Sketch Photos. . . and News Updates
As long time readers know, I visit Arizona a lot – especially the Tucson area. I have friends there, and I attend the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show every February to find special components for the jewelry I create. Continue Reading
