A Sweet Treat . . .

A couple of days ago, I was having a sugar craving that made me want to grab my pop gun, and hunt down some Gummy Bears.

OK – not that bad, but it was bad.

Off to my local market I went, with the intention of satisfying my craving in the healthiest way I could. Not easy, because I won’t touch artificial sweeteners and I didn’t want fat with my sugar.

I think I found the best thing ever and I just have to share.

These are Chloe’s Fruit Soft Serve Pops, and here’s a picture of the real thing:

Made of ONLY fruit, water, and a bit of organic cane sugar. I didn’t know chocolate was a fruit, but the Dark Chocolate flavor adds natural cocoa to banana puree. The other flavor I got was Raspberry, and nothing I have ever eaten tastes as much like fresh raspberries as this – except for fresh raspberries, of course.

No dairy, no fat, gluten-free, vegan, and only 60 CALORIES for a full size bar.

You’ve heard of a painting that looks good enough to eat? Well, this is food that’s good enough to paint – so I did.

I knew I had to share and since my friends are all over the place, I did some research on availability before getting everybody all excited.

Found that the Pops are available in Whole Foods and Albertson’s and some Safeways – as well as many of those small local, artisanal markets.

If you live in NYC, you can visit Chloe’s flagship store and get the actual soft-serve.

The world just really needs some sweet treats right now.

Get you some!

  1. Not bad in the carb. department either for us with diabetes. Thanks for the tip.

  2. You are so right! We need something sweet, tender, kind, good for the moral something right about now. I don’t think I can find those here in Canada but I guess we don’t have quite the same upheaval as our neighbor to the south. i will just have to stick with my guilty Fudgecicle that I reward myself with every evening.
Love your postings, Thank you, Llynnda

  3. Guilty! I was just trying a piece of the brown sugar fudge I make for my husband each year (been making it ever since his mom died as she’d made it for him before that each year). Your fruitsicles look super and so refreshing too! Nice job on finding the treat AND painting it before you’d eaten them all!

  4. It was a close call, Timaree. Finally couldn’t stand it anymore and took an iPad photo to work from. Then, I ate the models!!

  5. Actually, they look much more appealing in your painting than in real life. Yummy
